Exports and imports of services in 2016

Export (Services)
 
Estimated service export turnovers in 2016 = US$ 12.3 billion (up 8.9% over 2015), of which travel services gained US$ 8.3 billion (67.3% of the total turnovers and up 12.2%);
transport services achieved US$ 2.4 billion (20% and up 0.7%).
 
Import (Services)
 
Estimated service import turnovers in 2016 = US$ 17.7 billion (up 7% from 2015),
of which transport services imports gained US$ 8.9 billion (50.6% of the total turnovers and up 3.8%);
travel services obtained US$ 4.5 billion (25.4% and up 27.9%).
Trade deficit of services in 2016 was US$ 5.4 billion, equaling 44.1% of service import turnovers.

Retail sales of goods and services in 2016

Retail sales (Total)
 
Total estimated retail sales of consumer goods and services= 3527.4 trillion dongs (up 10.2% over 2015), if the price factor were excluded, the growth rate would be 7.8%, lower than the growth rate of 8.5% in the previous year due to having no significant change in purchasing power, while the consumer price this year was higher than in 2015.
 
Transportation & Telecommunication
 
Estimated passenger carriage = 3620.5 million passengers (raised by 9.6%).
Estimated cargo carriage =1275.4 million tons (up 10.6%).
Estimated telecommunication sales = 381.7 trillion dongs (up 6.6% over 2015).
 
Tourist
International visitors to Vietnam = 10.01 million arrivals (up 26% from 2015).
This is the first time Vietnam welcomed more than 10 million international visitors, double the amount of visitors to Vietnam in 2010.
Of which visitors coming by airway = 8.26 million arrivals (up 31.7%); by road= 1.47 million arrivals (down 2.3%); by seaway =284.8 thousand arrivals (up 67.7%).

Exports and imports of goods in 2016

Overall
 
In general, trade balance of goods in 2016 was a surplus of US$2.68 billion, of which the domestic economic sector had a trade deficit of US$ 21.02 billion;
the FDI sector had a trade surplus of US$ 23.70 billion.
 
Export (Goods)
Estimated export turnovers of goods in 2016 = US$ 175.9 billion (up 8.6% from 2015), of which the domestic economic sector achieved US$ 50.0 billion (up 4.8%);
the FDI sector (including crude oil) gained US$ 125.9 billion (up 10.2%)
 
Import (Goods)
Estimated import turnovers of goods in 2016 = US$ 173.3 billion (up 4.6% from 2015), of which the domestic economic sector gained US$ 71.1 billion (up 4%);
the FDI sector achieved US$ 102.2 billion (up 5.1%).

Estimated Gross Regional Domestic Product(GRDP) in Hanoi increased 8.2% from 2016.
In 2016, Hanoi investment fund reached 277,950 billions VND (up 10% from 2015), of which government fund increase 15%, FDI fund increase 2.4%,
export value in December 2016 reached 928 million USD (up 3% from last month).
 
Export and Import Value in Hanoi 
 
Generally, in 2016 export value reached 10,613 million USD, in which regional export value reached 8,143 million USD.
Import value reach 24.833 million USD, in which regional import value reached 10,844 million USD

Total government revenues = 943.3 trillion dongs (93% of annual estimate), of which domestic revenues=744.9 trillion dongs (94.9% of annual estimate); collecting from crude oil= 37.7 trillion dongs (69.2%); from export-import balance = 156.2 trillion dongs (90.8%).
 
Expenditure
 
Total government expenditures= 1135.5 trillion dongs (89.2% of annual estimate), of which, spending for development investment= 190.5 trillion dongs (74.7% of annual estimate); spending for economic and social development, national defense and security, state management=786 trillion dongs (95.4%); repayment of debts and provision of aids=150.3 trillion dongs (96.9%).

Value import and export in HCM( first 6 months 2016)

 
 
Total Value of Import and Export in Ho Chi Minh City
 
According to the HCM City Customs Department, total value of import and export turnover in Ho Chi Minh’s check point in the first 6 months of 2016 reached US $ 39.771 billion vnd, an increase of more than US $ 3.4 billion (9.47%) compared to the same period in 2015.
 
Comparison with 2015
 
In particular,
import turnover reached US $ 21.152 billion, up 8.63%,
export turnover reached US $ 18.619 billion, up 10.45%,
compared to the same period in 2015.
 
Tax Revenue in Ho Chi Minh City
 
With the rising turnover of imported and exported commodities,
import and export tax revenues of  HCM City Customs Department in June, up 5.77%, reached VND 9,350.912 billion vnd.
Accumulating to June 28, total revenues of HCM city Customs Department  were VND 47,444.131 billion vnd, reached  46.29% compared to plan targets VND 102,500 billion vnd ( reached 105.46% compared to the same period in 2015).

Export revenue of Ho Chi Minh City in the first 6 months of 2015

During the first six months in 2015, HCMC exported $13.24 billion including the value of crude oil through the city’s border gate. That number accounted for almost 17.02% total export value of the whole nation.
Among three business areas, state owned enterprises’ export value decreased sharply by a half of the amount of the same period in 2014, meanwhile, at the same time, that value of FDI and non-state owned enterprises grew considerably by 15.4% and 6.6% respectively.
In terms of exporting industry, industrial sectors made up the highest value with $7.98 billion accounted for over 60.28% total export value of the city (including crude oil). However, almost other sectors went through a reduction trend, especially, crude oil declined sharply by 51.2% in revenue compared to the first six months in 2014 because of the drop in oil prices.
Regarding to export markets, the USA, China, Japan, Singapore continued being the most active ones, which is demonstrated by total revenue reached to $6.46 billion making up 48.8% total value of HCMC.

State budget revenue account (first 6 months of 2015)

Total state budget revenue as of 15/06/2015 is VND 406.2 trillion, meets 44.6% of 2015 estimate.
 
Among three sources listed, domestic revenue contributes the most, with VND 298.8 trillion, 46.8% of the year estimate. In particular, the figure from state own enterprises is highest, VND 91.2 trillion though meets 41.3% of year estimate. Within the same category, revenue from land and house contributes only VND 24.4 trillion, though repesents 62.7% of 2015 estimate.
 
Revenue from export and import activities comes the second place, with VND 73.4 billion, 41.9% of the year estimate. Oil revenue contributes VND 32.6 trillion to the state budget, corresponding 35% of the year estimate.
 
In comparison with the same period of 2014, oil revenue decreases significantly by 23.6% in first half of 2015. Meanwhile, revenues from the other sources are on the upward trend, and environmental protection tax has highest growth rate (24%).
