Total export – import of Vietnam during 1996-2013 increased 14 times from $ 13.4 million to $ 264.066 million USD. Since 2007, the total import – export value reached over $ 100 million. The highest growth rate is in 2007 (up 31% y-o-y) and the lowest is in 2009 (down 11.4% y-o-y).
In the period of 1996 – 2013, the export value of Vietnam increased from $ 7.3 million to $ 132 million (up 18 times) while import value increased from $ 11 million to $ 132 million (up 11 times), in which export achieved the highest growth rate in 2004 (31%) while import’s one was in 2007 (39%).
The value of import in the period of 1996 – 2013 is generally higher than the value of export. The biggest difference was in 2008 ($ 18 million), particularly in 2012 export value exceed import’s by $ 0.74 million, to 2013, the value of export and import are the same.

The survey’s results showed that 5% of online purchasers were very satisfied, 29% were satisfied, 62% felt neutral and 4% were dissatisfied.
The obstacle of online shopping to respondent were the quality of products or services worse than advertised (77%); price not lower than buying from traditional shops (40%); unprofessional logistic services (38%); afraid of personal privacy disclosure (31%); and complicated online order procedures (29%).
Besides, the reason why people did not purchase online that had the highest percentage was the difficulties in examining quality of products as the features of products not as advertised (59%).
However, 88% respondents will continue to purchase items online in the future; 12% remaining will go back to conventional shopping.

Total revenue of Vietnam tourism industry in the period of 2006 – 2013 increased from 51 trillion VND in 2006 to 200 trillion VND in 2013. The average growth rate achieved 28.1% in which the highest growth rate in 2006 (70%) and the lowest in 2008 (7.1%). Although growth rate of total income of Vietnam tourism industry got the highest in 2006, but due to the Global Economic Crisis, the growth rate fell sharply in 2007 and 2008, tended to increase again starting in 2009 after several attempts to stimulus the tourism industry. Total revenue from tourists has increased since 2009, but the growth rate has decreased in recent years.

In 2013, VECITA, the Ministry of Industry and Trade collected data from the outstanding e-commerce firms. The survey’s result revealed that the estimation of e-commerce sales per online buyer accounted for approximately $120 in 2013. Purchasing items were fashion, cosmetics products (62%), technology and electronic products (35%), household products (32%), air tickets (25%) and others. Most of online shoppers paid in cash (74%), while payments via bank accounts and via intermediate payments in e-comerce websites were 41% and 8% respectively.
Besides, 57% of Internet users purchased items online and the B2C e-commerce sales were estimated $2.2 billion.

In 2013, Vietnam has a total of 253 producers, including 30 state producers (12%) and 223 private producers (88%). This shows that Vietnam Film industry is attracting the private producers joining the market.
Of the total number of films produced in 2013, feature films counted for the largest proportion of 25 films (37%) and featrue documentary counted for the lowest proportion of 6 ones (8%). In the total of movies released in the year, Feature films of Vietnam and foreign hasmajority of 88% but the the average view is lower than the average view of video film series.

Vietnam export value to Japan increased continously from 2009-2013 with CAGR of 21.4%. Import value from Japan increased in three years 2009-2011, however, since 2012, the figure stucked at 11.6 billion USD. Before 2011, the trade balance Vietnam-Japan was deficit but since 2011 the positive numbers has appeared. In 2013, trade balance reached +2. In that year, the major imported goods from Japan were machines, equipment, tools and spares (25.5%). On the other hand, textiles and crude oil accounted for the most in export value.

Telecommunications in the period 2008 – 2013 had the volatility in revenue. After years of continuous growth, revenue fell into decline period in 2011 due to the impact of the economic downturn, while revenue from mobile services decreased from 5.7 billion to 5.4 billion. Although sales rebounded in 2012 but in 2013, due to the strong development of OTT services and the policy issued to tighten management of charges and prepaid mobile subscribers, the telecom sector, internet had many changes.
The revenue of mobile services decreased, leading to the telecommunication revenue in 2013 was only $ 7.4 billion, decreased nearly 26% compared with 2012, while both fixed telephone services and internet services revenue increased, particularly internet services doubled income compared to .
In period of 2008 -2009, fixed telephone services still accounted for a large proportion of the industry’s structure, but since 2009, when consuming trend shifted from landline to mobile, fixed telephone service revenue plummeted . With the efforts of enterprises in utility and infrastructure development to meet the needs of users, fixed telephone service revenues is growing back despite of the lower growth rate.
Particularly, internet market has developed strongly in recent years, however, despite the large number of customers, internet service revenue has no increase in revenue. Only untill 2013, due to the explosion of OTT services and content innovation, internet services revenue has more than doubled compared to 2012.

Survey of E-commerce and Information Technology Agency in 2013 about online shoppers indicated that 61% of them purchased items online via sales e-commerce websites, 51% bought via group-buying websites, 45% via social forums, 19% via marketplace websites and 6% via application on mobile.
Female still occupied in percentage of online shoppers with 59% while male accounted 41%.
The managers and office staffs were frequent online purchasers (41%). This results from the fact that they do not have much time for traditional shop due to the official working time, however, they do have time to access Internet, followed by students (37%).
The popular online products are clothes, shoes, and cosmetics accounted for 62%. The second most popular categories were technology products (35%), followed by household products (32%) and air tickets (25%) and etc.
Cash was a major payment method in online transaction (74% of respondents); 41% of answeres transferred via bank.

From 2002 to 2012, Vietnam gained sport medals each year of all types (gold, silver and bronze) and three scales (South East Asia, Asia and the world). In general, although there were some decreases in 2006 and 2008, the number of medals increased throughout the years. The majority of sport medals that Vietnam achieved came from South East Asia competitions. In 2012, Vietnam achieved 322 gold medals, 277 silver ones and 237 bronze ones. Among the number of gold medals, more than half of them were from South East Asia competitions; 36% came from Asia competitions; and the rest came from international sport competitions (28 medals).

According to data from General Statistics Office, from 2005 to 2012, the whole country’s aquacultural land rose from 952.6 thousand ha to1038.9 thousand ha (increase 9.06%). Mekong River delta stands the first place with 727.2 thousand ha, accounts for 70% of the whole country. Ca Mau province, Kien Giang province and Bac Lieu province are 3 top largest aquacultural land of Vietnam.
